In this system, the process fluid circulates inside a completely sealed coil, while spray water and air flow in the same direction over the coil surface. This co-current (parallel-flow) design effectively reduces scaling risk and ensures stable, long-term heat transfer performance.
 
As a wet-type mechanical draft closed circuit cooling tower, it combines the advantages of evaporative cooling with a fully closed process loop. The process fluid never contacts the air, preventing contamination and significantly reducing water and energy consumption compared with traditional open cooling towers.

Working Principle

In the Parallel-flow Closed Circuit Cooling Tower, the hot process fluid circulates inside a completely sealed coil and never contacts the air or spray water. Spray water is evenly distributed over the outer surface of the coil, while ambient air is drawn by mechanical fans and flows in the same direction as the falling spray water (co-current / parallel flow).
 
Heat from the process fluid is transferred through the coil wall to the thin water film on the coil surface. Part of the spray water evaporates, absorbing a large amount of latent heat and effectively cooling the fluid inside the coil. The remaining unevaporated water falls into the basin at the bottom and is recirculated by the spray pump. The warm, moisture-laden air is discharged from the top of the tower by the fans.
 
This parallel-flow design helps reduce scaling on the coil surface while maintaining high heat exchange efficiency and ensuring the process fluid remains clean and uncontaminated.
